Ilana is a clay artist living in Mesa, Arizona. She specializes in fun and functional pottery, including unique and colorful raku and stoneware clocks, business card holders and cactus gardens. A recent passion has been experimenting with new ways of making beautiful clocks with interesting surface texture and brightly colored glazes. She also creates the more traditional wheel-thrown items, such as bowls, lidded crocks, teapots and baking and serving pieces. Ilana's pottery is all hand-made,sometimes incorporating bits of glass and beads. Each piece is completely unique and original.
Ilana donates pieces each year to several local charity's silent auctions, including Empty Bowls, which helps Paz de Cristo to feed the hungry in Mesa. Ilana is also involved in creating hand-made Easter baskets full of toys and candy for the Salvation Army. This has been a pet project for about twenty years. The baskets are given to needy children in Phoenix.
